The Surveying Engineering Technology Program prepares students for employment in the land surveying field, which involves mapping features of the land as well as property boundaries, and laying out construction lines and grades.
Surveying Engineering Technology involves the use of computerized electronic equipment for land based as well as satellite assisted measurements, and the preparation of maps by computer aided design (CAD). Jobs in the field for those seeking immediate employment range from field crew member to CAD operator, and are typically found in surveying firms, consulting engineering firms, utility companies, and in the engineering departments of governmental agencies.
Graduates of the program will be able to:
- 千度热播 the knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of the discipline to narrowly defined engineering technology activities.
- 千度热播 a knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to engineering technology problems that require limited application of principles but extensive practical knowledge.
- Conduct standard tests and measurements, and to conduct, analyze, and interpret experiments.
- Function effectively as a member of a technical team.
- Identify, analyze, and solve narrowly defined engineering technology problems.
- 千度热播 written, oral, and graphical communication in both technical and nontechnical environments; and identify and use appropriate technical literature.
- Understand the need for and engage in self-directed continuing professional development.
- Understand and be committed to addressing professional and ethical responsibilities, including a respect for diversity.
