FAFSA Simplification
Changes to FAFSA are coming for the upcoming 2024鈥�2025 award year (application to be available in December).
Important Dates
Financial Aid Application (FAFSA) Deadlines
Priority will be given to applications submitted by or on:
- June 1, 2023 for the Fall 2023 semester
- November 1, 2023 for the Spring 2024 semester
- April 1, 2024 for the Summer 2024 semester
(Note: Students may submit the FAFSA after the published deadlines but it is not guaranteed that their financial aid will be awarded in time for the tuition payment deadline.)
Verification Document(s) for Federal Aid
Priority will be given to those who submit documents by or on:
- July 1, 2023 for the Fall 2023 semester
- November 20, 2023 for the Winter 2024 semester
- December 18, 2023 for the Spring 2024 semester
- May 1, 2024 for the Summer 2024 semester
Federal Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
To maintain federal aid, students must provide documentation showing SAP by or on:
- Fall 2023: November 15, 2023
- Spring 2024: April 15, 2024
- Summer 2024: July 15, 2024
Federal Loan Request
Students must submit requests by or on:
- Fall 2023: December 5, 2023
- Spring 2024: April 30, 2024
- Summer 2024: August 1, 2024
Note the following:
- Non-verification student loan requests will take up to 5 business days to process from the time of submission.
- Verification student loan requests are dependent upon when verification is completed. Once verification is completed, it can take up to 5 business days afterwards for awarding.
Deadlines for Tuition Aid Grant (TAG), Governor鈥檚 Urban Scholarship, NJ STARS, and Community College Opportunity Grant Programs
The FAFSA must be received by the federal processor (not postmarked) by the dates below to be considered for state aid (the Tuition Aid Grant (TAG), Governor鈥檚 Urban Scholarship, NJ STARS, and Community College Opportunity Grant programs).
- Students who received TAG during the 2022-2023 academic year:
April 15, 2023 - New applicants for the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters:
September 15, 2023 - New applicants for the Spring 2024 semester only:
February 15, 2024
Disbursement
- Fall 2023: October 10, 2023
- Spring 2024: February 27, 2024
- Summer 2024: July 9, 2024
For students owed a refund, the Student Accounts department will begin processing refunds within 2 weeks of the scheduled disbursement date and will continue throughout the term.
Students unsure if they are owed a refund are encouraged to contact the Cashiers Office by emailing cashier_mail@middlesexcc.edu
Scholarships
Spring 2024: Application open 10/23/2023 – 12/1/2023
(Note: Scholarship awards are generally posted to the student account by the tuition payment deadline.)
Bookstore Sale
Students are able to purchase books and supplies during the following dates:
Winter 2024 / Spring 2024
- December 11, 2023 鈥� December 30, 2023
- January 9, 2024 鈥� February 23, 2024
- March 11, 2024 鈥� April 5, 2024

Dodge Foundation that will be earmarked for the College鈥檚 Justice Scholars Program as well as for programming to support currently incarcerated students by bringing in supplemental educational programming within partner facilities.
